Module 1 -  So, You Want To Be A Legal Nurse Consultant?

Module 1 introduces you to the specialty field of legal nurse consulting. An introduction to the different types of law, legal procedures and legal theory including legal terminology is included in the first session. Additionally you will learn about the history of legal nurse consulting. Join us to find out if legal nurse consulting is the right fit for you.

Module 2 - Legal Nurse Consulting – Getting started

Module 2 takes you through the various types of cases on which legal nurse consultants provide consultation and reviews how to effectively screen these cases.  Additionally, you may find your own niche as you learn about the various roles in which a legal nurse consultant may function.

Module 3 –Legal Nurse Consulting – The Next Step 

Dates: August 15, 2008, December 12, 2008

Module 3 covers the basics of reviewing a case, analyzing the medical records and report writing as a legal nurse consultant. Additionally, as a legal nurse consult it is imperative to have excellent report writing skills, therefore you will learn about legal and report writing. After which, you will have the opportunity to complete a sample medical record analysis of a personal injury case with the creation of your own narrative summary and billing analysis in the computer lab. Gentle feedback will be offered.

Module 4 – Growing Your Business

Dates: March 14, 2008, October 17, 2008

Module 4 teaches you the principles of starting your legal nurse consulting business including business ethics, marketing strategies and growing your business. You will also learn business principles for the nurse expert witness. You will be guided through medical research on the internet with an interactive session in a computer lab. Finally, LNCI offers another hands on experience. This session includes medical malpractice case analysis drafting a chronology with input and gentle feedback from LNCI staff.
